I help brands tell better stories.
Alison Coen is a social media strategist, content writer, and producer who indulges in writing about herself in the third person when the medium calls for it. Born in Fullerton California, the Paris of Orange County, Alison is thrilled you’re here!
Alison is currently the Creative Director at Collective Media, who has written, produced and created content for nearly over a decade for brands like Target, Rubbermaid, Hallmark, JCPenney and many others for television and across all social media platforms. She also wanted me to assure you that the rest of this bio isn’t written in the third person.
My (ah, that’s better) passion for creation and affinity for storytelling makes me truly love what I do.
I started my career in modeling at the baby age of seventeen and ended up quickly realizing that I was better suited calling the shots and eating tacos behind the camera. I ditched the castings and studied communications at California State University Los Angeles and comedy writing at Upright Citizens Brigade and Second City Los Angeles. My comedic and writing background mixed with endless love of creative production storytelling lead me to produce for Hellogiggles.com and then landing my first television producing gig at the Home and Family Show on the Hallmark Channel.
Producing a live-to-tape daily television show on the Hallmark network was not only hilariously entertaining and involved out of body experiences like gifting a pigeon to Katrina Bowden or insuring Larry King photographed well while sitting on a specific size mattress (it was for a mattress ad you weirdos). Producing Home and Family also allowed me the opportunity to produce hundreds of interviews with entertainers of every variety and folks from all over the country with a plethora of special skills.
What I learned from all of this was that everyone has a story.
But not everyone knows how to tell it.
I thrived from assisting these people to find those defining moments, goofy secrets, or fascinating specialties that help connect them to an audience on a deeper level.
Confession: Being open, candid, and vulnerable will always work, and if you need a hand, I can show you how to find that.
I made a move from television into the digital marketing space five years ago with the NY Times Bestseller Rachel Hollis, and now I specialize in audience and revenue growth services for influencers, brands, and entrepreneurs in lifestyle, travel, food, wellness, and female-focused verticals at Collective Media. And man do I dig it.
When I’m not creating for work, I enjoy modern art, crafting the perfect playlist, and almost always going to my spin class when we aren’t in a pandemic.
